LIST: Drawings of stacks of things from children’s books that are really, really good

If you have small children, or if you remember being one, then you know that stacking things is a very big deal for a surprisingly significant portion of early childhood. As a kid, I was obsessed with Shel Silverstein’s drawing of pancakes from Where the Sidewalk Ends, and even as an adult I can’t stop staring at when I read that book to my kids. “MOM. TURN the PAGE!” This is probably indicative of the something or other that is a little off in my brain.

So I made a list of drawings of stacks of things from kids’ books, and I also drew my own stack. It’s African bullfrogs.

Yup, I could only think of two good ones. I have very high standards. That is why most of my lists are SHORT.

  1. “Pancake?” from Where the Sidewalk Ends, By Shel Silverstein

2. Turtle stacks from Yertle the Turtle, by Dr. Seuss

Do you know of any really excellent drawings of stacks of things that I’ve missed?
