Anatomy of Melancholy: Vice and Virtue, A Political Cartoon

“Vice, when successful, is called virtue.”

This is my favorite quote from The Anatomy of Melancholy so far I think, although it’s hard to choose just one.

Sadly it seems very relevant right now.

What’s your favorite literary quote that is excruciatingly relevant to all the horrible that is happening right now? Because personally I have run out of words of my own. Well, expletives really. Let’s be honest, it’s been mostly f-words.

Seriously though, share your smart person quote here! Or better yet, post it publicly online 😱  Let’s try to make social media smarter. And tag me so that I see it pretty please.

This post is part of a long, tedious, and very illustrated read-along of Robert Burton’s The Anatomy of Melancholy. More info here and follow along on Facebook here. Illustrations posted via devon_isadevon on Instagram.
